Our team at Natural Smiles Dentistry is truly a family. We believe in giving all our patients the personal attention and care that we would our own friends and family. Just as we want to get to know you in order to provide you with the best dental care possible, we think it’s important that you get to know the person poking around in your mouth. Get to know our Salt Lake City dental team below!
Thomas Brickey, DMD is the founding Salt Lake City dentist of Natural Smiles Dentistry. Tom and his incredible staff have been treating adults and children of all ages for over 20 years. He is a Utah native, and graduate of Highland High School and the University of Utah with a BS in Communication.
Tom graduated from the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry and spent time working in various public health dental clinics, while beginning his private practice in the Cottonwood Heights area with the help of his uncle and mentor, Roger Russell, DDS. Four years later he moved to his current location in the Canyon Rim area. His Salt Lake City dental office promotes a philosophy of healthy living through optimal oral health, which begins and ends with oral hygiene. Prevention of dental disease has never been easier, and all we need to do is spread the word! Natural Smiles Dentistry always incorporates the latest in CAD-CAM computer assisted dentistry in providing timely, beautiful, and biologically sensitive solutions to your dental needs. He is one of only 8 dentists in the state of Utah to be trained and qualified to perform the LANAP® laser periodontal treatment for people with gum disease. His high tech dental practice boasts an amazing view of Mt. Olympus too!
Thomas loves his patients, his family, his dog, and his ’95 Ford Escort. He’s learning to like soccer games and school homework with his two slightly above incredible children. He likes to remind kids and patients of all ages that cavity bugs like to poop on your teeth and that soft drinks, especially diet sodas, are the source of all tooth evil. He would much rather talk about the feeling one gets while carving less-than-perfect S turns through perfect Utah powder, or the thrill of climbing any one of Utah’s many crags, than the horrors of root canal due to poor oral hygiene.
Dr. Brickey loves to read, watch his beautiful children grow, spend time with his gorgeous wife, outdoors, and traveling the globe. He is dedicated and resolved to bring dental disease to its knees!
“Floss your head off!”
What a joy to welcome back Dr. Laura Provine to our office! It was over 5 years ago that she was a part of our team before she attended dental school, and now returns to re-join our dental family as our newest Salt Lake City dentist.
Dr. Laura has a BA in Chemistry from Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine in 2004. She obtained her
DMD from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona in 2014.
If you haven’t met her already, you will come to enjoy her sense of humor, her empathy with her patients, and her commitment to exceptional dental care. Her passion for improving her patients’ quality of life matches Dr. Brickey’s commitment to excellence in dentistry. As a matter of fact, she is HIS dentist!
Her love of nature is one of the major reasons she moved to Utah in 2005 from the East Coast. When she is not in the office, she is outside……somewhere! Dr. Provine is a self-proclaimed avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying biking, hiking, and especially downhill skiing. So look out for her on the slopes!
She and her husband Aaron were married here in 2011 and are looking forward to making Utah their permanent home.
Be sure to bug her about professional sports as she still claims to be a Pittsburgh sports fan, but we’ll convert her soon enough.
Heidi is a Utah native, growing up in Ogden and later moving to Salt Lake City with her family. An East High School grad, she loves to spend time with her husband, Dr. Tom Brickey, and take full advantage of the beautiful natural resources the State of Utah has to offer. She is currently holding the position as Business Manager for Natural Smiles Dentistry, however, she does keep her hygiene license active and attends many continuing education courses yearly for both administrative and clinical practice. The relationship she develops with her patients is what really brings her joy. She has also enjoyed working with dental hygiene students as a clinical instructor at the SLCC Dental Hygiene Program. She has volunteered her time and energy over the years for those without access to care. When not working, she loves being with her family, staying active with Zumba, yoga, and skiing, and volunteering in her kids classrooms and watching them play sports and dance.
